Found some photos of the event I produced ‘RAW’, a thesis show of illustrations, props and a film screening by Danielle Mulcahy. It ran pretty smoothly, considering how behind the artist was with the preparation of her work, getting it all together and ready for display.

One thing I will say about preparedness is this - if you know you have an event showcasing your own artwork, and are aware of this 2-3 months before the show, don’t start preparing the night before; the film alone was 1.5 hours in length, because the artist finished it at 6am that day, and hadn’t yet watched it.

(If you want to showcase work and express your skill, professionalism and efforts, take the advice.)

In an attempt to amass a great amount of new work in all areas of what I do, I have finally updated my Model Mayhem page (it’s been over a year!), and am getting shoots lined up!

I am also uploading some of my work to my Vimeo (I like the image quality). However, there will always be more of my work on YouTube - because they don’t make you compress like crazy.

I’m also drawing more, and some painting - sexy cats, really. I am also going to try and sell the art prints I have, and the dolls I make. (Yep, I make dolls.)

Finding Hope - Finally!

I finally found some of the fashion show photos from the ‘Finding Hope With Fashion’ show I walked in!

Unfortunately, the “professional” photographers at the event won’t respond to anyone - not even the event producer - so all of the great shots we took before the show aren’t up anywhere :/

All of us modeling Faith Garland’s line - 2 of the dresses are made out of water bottles!

My Big, Bad Wolf

Not to be confused with this amazing music video, my short film ‘My Big, Bad Wolf’ (working title) is underway! Locations are being scouted, storyboards done, shot lists and casting calls made - just need to do everything else!

(Danielle Mulcahy, casting/props/locations/etc., scouting land!)

This projected 25-minute film shares a few commonalities with my even shorter 2011 film “You Are Not Queen” (16mm film and digital video, featured in the 2011 SNOB Film Festival). However, this film will be better in many ways…

Is a great song by Pendulum, who just played a show in Boston and I didn’t go. Poop.

Streamline also applies to what I am going to do with all of my work! I’m over the I-need-to-compile-absolutely-all-of-my-work-and-put-everything-online phase, and am moving onto the here-are-a-few-samples-of-my-work thing.

Won’t that be fun?

In looking for designs, I came across Under The Line, and this video is just lovely.

Isn’t that special? I like kaleidoscopes.

So I’m removing some of my videos and photos from the internet - see ‘em while they’re still available, or wait 50 years for a retrospective of my work to be released. Ha!

Punk Guide

I was told to look ‘punk’ for a small part as an extra in a film, so I searched “how to look punk” online. Among all the guides made by preteen girls on, essentially, how to look like Avril Lavigne, I found this - a 1977 guide on ‘How To Look Look Punk’

It’s like half the kids in my art school today, ha.

The ‘Reveal’ MassArt Fashion Show was fantastic! An interesting setup - we walked for 3 shows throughout the night (photos to follow, soon)!

I’m out of school for the summer and casting for my next film, a short ‘surreal, psychological thriller’ (as I describe it). It’ll be shot in HD in the great outdoors!

I’ll hopefully upload one new video per week to my youtube until I run out of new work; all the videos I made this past spring.

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of work with minimal equipment. The in-camera mic, a Canon Vixia, and lights just plopped on the floor of my room with some magenta and blue gels. I like the aesthetic; I think it also mirrors the fact that I am tired of art school pretentious crap :)

So it’s just a lot of me, entertaining myself - and hopefully you, at times. Exploring art because it’s art, and not because there’s some super-deep, psychological meaning behind it - because no matter how beautiful your artist statement and concept are, crap is still crap. (And some work just speaks for itself.)

So, life is fun! Have a fun life!

Geena Radio

For the past two months I’ve eluded to my ‘Geena Radio’ video - well, here it is! ‘Geena Radio’ was how I entertained myself as a kid; I made elaborate radio, game and talk shows where I played all of the characters. I just made it up as I went along!

This is my present-day rendition of ‘Geena Radio,’ now that I have a video camera, lights and editing tools available. All content is intentional - the questionable lighting, strange cuts, etc. (I used the in-camera microphone, so don’t get scared by the audio quality.) Simply for entertainment, I hope you get a laugh out of it!

This video is a launch piece for future work I’ll make, such as a series ‘Ponder With Pluto,’ ‘Nightly News with Norton Narl,’ and Tusty Applecrumpet - so keep checking my youtube for more!

While procrastinating a few weeks back, I decided to make a satirical, politically relevant video. Created the day Rick Santorum dropped out of the race, this should still be up-to-date. (Most of the dialogue is taken from actual quotes by the candidates!)
